The First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, has passed away following an illness. Her death occurred on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at a hospital where she was surrounded by her family.
According to DailyTrust, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Mr. Ini Ememobong, the family confirmed the tragic loss and requested privacy as they mourn their loved one.
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of the wife of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno. She died peacefully in the presence of her family after battling an illness,” the statement read.
Governor Umo Eno, despite the personal loss, reassured the people of Akwa Ibom that his commitment to the state remains firm. “In spite of this painful loss, my dedication to the service of the state remains unwavering,” he said.
The family, while asking for prayers and support, has promised to provide more details in due course. “We kindly ask for privacy during this time of grief,” the statement concluded.
