The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Shehu Mohammed, has instructed personnel to ensure strict enforcement of movement restrictions and facilitate the smooth execution of the Edo governorship election on September 21.
In a statement released on Friday by FRSC spokesperson Olusegun Ogungbemide, the Corps Marshal directed FRSC officers to work closely with other security agencies to enforce the vehicular movement restrictions during the polls.
He also emphasized the need for personnel to remove any road obstructions, perform rescue operations if needed, and maintain order at voting centers.
To bolster these efforts, the FRSC has deployed operational vehicles, tow trucks, and ambulances to support enforcement and provide swift response during the election.
The Corps Marshal underscored the importance of professionalism among the officers, urging them to respect the rights of voters and refrain from any actions that could interfere with the democratic process.
