The National Examinations Council has officially released the results of the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination for internal candidates.
According to the Nation, this was confirmed on Thursday, September 19, by the Registrar and Chief Executive of NECO, Professor Dantani Wushishi, during a press briefing held in Minna, Niger State.
During the announcement, Wushishi revealed that 21 supervisors from 12 states have been blacklisted due to various forms of malpractice, including aiding and abetting cheating, poor supervision, negligence, extortion, and even drunkenness.
One school in Ekiti State has also been de-recognized after being found guilty of mass cheating in two core subjects and one science subject.
“These supervisors were recommended for blacklisting because of their involvement in malpractice. Their actions compromised the integrity of the examination process,” Wushishi stated.
In addition, Wushishi disclosed that 40 schools across 17 states were involved in whole-school mass cheating.
“The schools found guilty of mass cheating will be invited to the Council for further discussion, after which appropriate sanctions will be enforced,” he added.
