A road accident on Monday evening at Oju-Ore, along Idiroko Road in the Ota area of Ogun State, has resulted in the death of a driver, identified as Bello Lukman, and left three pedestrians injured.
According to The PUNCH, the incident, confirmed by the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, occurred at approximately 8:45 pm when Lukman, while attempting to reposition his Honda shuttle car parked by the roadside, lost control and hit pedestrians standing nearby.
Those injured in the accident have been identified as 26-year-old Ojo Isaac, Ladan Musa Moses, and Tunde Adio.
They were quickly transported to the State Hospital in Ota for medical care. Unfortunately, Isaac succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
“Isaac’s death was confirmed by the attending doctor. His body has been transferred to the General Hospital in Ifo for an autopsy,” Odutola said.
The accident scene has since been inspected by law enforcement officials, with a rough sketch map created, photographs taken, and the vehicle recovered for further inspection by Vehicle Inspection Officers. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, according to Odutola.
