Nollywood has been thrown into mourning yet again with the death of actor Big Larry, who reportedly passed away on Friday.
The sad news was shared by prominent movie producer Stanley Ontop via his official Instagram page.
In his post, Ontop expressed his grief by sharing a picture of the late actor, accompanied by the caption: “Nollywood actor Big Larry has just passed away. What caused his demise is yet to be known. May your soul rest in peace, Big Larry. Nollywood, Asaba mourns.”
This tragic news adds to a growing list of Nollywood stars who have passed away in 2024, with notable names such as Mr. Ibu, Amaechi Muonagor, Sisi Quadri, Ganiyu ‘Ogunjimi‘ Oyeyemi, and Junior Pope among those the industry has lost in recent months.
In response to the alarming number of deaths in the industry, the Actors Guild of Nigeria took action earlier in May by announcing a 4-day fasting and prayer session.
The prayer was led by the founder of Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze, in a bid to seek divine intervention and protection against untimely deaths within the Nollywood community.
