Lagos State police have apprehended a 30-year-old man in connection with the death of a 17-year-old boy, Adeolu Olubade, whose body was discovered in a shallow grave inside an apartment on Jesus Assembly Omoguwa Street, Ejigbo.
According to The PUNCH, the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident, revealing that the suspect, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, was arrested following reports from the victim’s family.
“On September 3, 2024, around 8:00 a.m., a relative of the deceased reported to the police that his 17-year-old cousin had been found dead and buried in a room at an apartment on Jesus Assembly Street,” Hundeyin said.
Police investigators were dispatched to the scene, where they photographed the grave and later exhumed the body.
The corpse has since been transported to Isolo General Hospital for a postmortem examination. Additionally, authorities recovered a shovel believed to have been used to bury the victim.
The suspect is currently in police custody and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Alagbon, for further investigation into the case.
