The Kaduna State Civil Service Commission has announced that 3,391 civil servants will sit for promotion examinations on Tuesday.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the. Chairman of the commission, Sule Allahbamulafiya, revealed this during a media briefing on Monday at the commission’s headquarters in Kaduna.
According to Allahbamulafiya, the simultaneous conduct of the 2023 and 2024 promotion exams has received approval from Governor Uba Sani.
He stated that this decision aims to reward the dedication and hard work of civil servants, boosting their morale and motivation.
“The promotion exercise is designed to clear the backlog of outstanding promotions within the core civil service, and will involve 3,391 officers,” he said.
He emphasized that the commission upholds merit in recruitment and promotion processes, ensuring fair representation across the 23 local government areas, with consideration for gender and persons with disabilities.
The chairman also noted that the commission recently implemented key reforms aimed at improving efficiency in the state’s civil service. These include the introduction of an aptitude test for new applicants and the recruitment of personnel to fill vacant positions.
Additionally, powers delegated to ministries, departments, and agencies for recruitment at lower levels (GL. 01-06) have been revoked to curb abuse.
