The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps has apprehended 12 individuals for creating public disturbances across various locations in Lagos.
The arrests were made following surveillance operations conducted in response to reports from concerned citizens.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab announced the development on X.com, stating that the arrests were part of efforts to maintain order and cleanliness on the streets of Lagos.
“Based on reports received about the disturbances caused by miscreants and destitute individuals, the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps deployed surveillance teams to the affected areas,” Wahab shared.
The operations were carried out in several parts of the city, including Falomo in Ikoyi, Adeola Odeku and Sanusi Fafunwa in Victoria Island, and Chisco, Ikate, and Marwa along the Lekki-Ajah expressway.
These efforts led to the arrest of 12 suspects, comprising ten adults and two minors.
Wahab further noted that the suspects would face charges in a court of competent jurisdiction.
