Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman is set to leave the club before the summer transfer deadline, according to reports from France and Germany.
Coman, who has struggled with recurring muscle injuries throughout his career, managed only 17 Bundesliga appearances last season.
Despite having a contract with Bayern through 2027, he is now ready for a new challenge after nine years in Munich.
L’Equipe reports that Bayern Munich is keen to offload high earners like Coman as part of their strategy to reduce the wage bill and refresh the squad.
This move comes as the club seeks to recover from their recent loss of dominance in German football.
Coman is reportedly open to a move, with interest from various Premier League clubs, though their identities have not been disclosed. Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with the France international, who had limited involvement at Euro 2024.
There is also speculation about a potential transfer to Barcelona, with the Catalan club and Liverpool both showing interest in Federico Chiesa.
Additionally, the Saudi Pro League has emerged as a possible destination for Coman.
Sky Sport Germany has reported that Bayern Munich and Saudi champions Al Hilal have reached an agreement for his transfer.
Although Saudi Arabia might not be Coman’s preferred choice, he is reportedly willing to consider it if no better offers materialize from European clubs.
The transfer windows in England, France, and Spain are closing on August 30, with Italy’s window closing a day later.
However, the Saudi Pro League’s transfer window remains open until October 6, allowing Coman to join Al Hilal even after European options are no longer available.
Al Hilal, who won the Saudi Pro League by a remarkable 14 points last season, did so despite a brief appearance from marquee signing Neymar due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The team’s success was spearheaded by players like Malcom, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and domestic star Salem Al Dawsari.
