White Barry, also known as White Olasunkanmi Barry, and widely recognized as the “Son of the Prophet,” recently made a significant announcement that has stirred the hearts of many.
In a heartfelt video shared online, White Barry revealed his decision to step down from a role that has been deeply intertwined with his life—mimicking his father, the founder of the Living Faith Church, commonly known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo.
In the video, White Barry expressed the internal struggle that led to this decision, stating, “If someone had told me that a day like this would come, I would have argued it vehemently. It has been a great honour and privilege to walk in the steps of God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo, but today, I must announce to the general public that I will no longer be mimicking him.”
The weight of his words was palpable as he continued, “The truth is, I never imagined this day would arrive. Saying goodbye to something that has been such an integral part of my life is incredibly difficult. The decision is heavy on my heart, but I believe it’s the right step for the journey that lies ahead.”
Son of the Prophet acknowledged the reactions that would follow his announcement, addressing the public directly, “I know many of you will have your thoughts, opinions, and even speculations. But in every man’s life, there comes a time when we must make drastic decisions to follow the new paths that God is calling us to. This is my moment.”
He spoke of an uncertain future but remained resolute in his faith, saying, “The next role that God is calling me to pursue is still unfolding before me. I don’t fully know what this path holds, but I must take this bold step today. It’s important to let you all know that I will no longer be mimicking God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo.”
The emotional toll of this decision was evident as Isaac reflected on the years he had spent in this role. “It’s like leaving a friend you’ve been with for years, or a teammate you’ve shared victories and defeats with. The memories, the laughter, the connection—it’s something I will deeply miss,” he said, his voice tinged with nostalgia.
Yet, despite the emotional difficulty, White Barry emphasized the necessity of his choice.
“We all have to make tough decisions for the days ahead, for the future that God is preparing us for,” he concluded. With this step, Isaac is embracing the unknown, trusting that the new chapter in his life will lead to greater fulfilment and purpose.
