Barcelona have made significant progress in re-signing Dani Olmo, a former youth academy standout, as part of their key summer transfer goals.
The Blaugrana have reportedly agreed to a six-year contract with Olmo and have presented a revised offer to his current club, RB Leipzig.
A football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, noted that Barcelona has settled personal terms with the 26-year-old, who is eager to return to Camp Nou.
Romano posted on his X account, “Barça reach agreement with Dani Olmo on contract until June 2030 and send new official bid! Details of the new proposal sent to RB Leipzig.
◉ €55m guaranteed.
◉ €4m easy add-ons.
◉ €3m difficult add-ons. Olmo agree six year deal, he strongly wants Barça.”
Barcelona’s new proposal includes €55 million guaranteed, approaching the reported €60 million release clause in Olmo’s contract, with an additional €7 million in add-ons that could raise the total to €62 million.
Leipzig has not yet responded to this latest offer, but Olmo’s firm commitment to joining Barcelona might finally seal the deal.
While Leipzig has a reputation for being tough negotiators, they typically respect the player’s wishes in major transfer situations.
Olmo’s strong desire to return to Barcelona will likely be pivotal in finalizing the transfer.
Olmo emerged as Barcelona’s primary target after their deal for Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams fell through last week.
The Catalans quickly initiated serious negotiations with Leipzig to secure one of Hansi Flick’s top priorities.
