Aribemchukwu, the daughter of Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, was found dead at her Parkview Estate residence in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday morning.
According to The PUNCH, popularly known as Chuchu, Aribemchukwu’s body was discovered outside the gate of her home, and preliminary reports suggest she was murdered the previous night.
A family member, who requested anonymity, indicated that new household staff might be involved, suggesting they attempted to stage the scene to appear as if the incident occurred outside.
Evidence of blood cleanup attempts inside the house and compound was found, pointing to the involvement of recently hired staff who had been employed for less than a month and were alone with her at the time of the incident.
Lagos State police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the recovery of the body and the arrest of three domestic staff members in connection to the murder.
The arrested individuals include a driver and two maids.
“We have apprehended three people in connection to the murder of Justice Ajumogobia’s daughter at her residence in Parkview Estate. Our investigation is ongoing, and we will provide further updates,” Hundeyin stated.
Aribemchukwu was a doctor and had recently married before her tragic death.
