Israeli airstrikes on Sunday resulted in the deaths of at least 19 Palestinians, including children, and left numerous others injured throughout Gaza, according to health officials and Gaza’s Civil Defense.
According to CNN, among the dead were at least ten individuals killed in a strike on a house in central Khan Younis, as reported by a health official at Nasser Hospital.
Footage from CNN at the hospital shows multiple body bags in the morgue and individuals transporting the injured, including children.
Gaza’s Civil Defense reported another airstrike on tents in the Al-Mawasi area, a zone designated by the Israeli military as a “humanitarian zone” for displaced Palestinians, resulting in at least four fatalities.
An infant girl was among the victims, according to a statement from the Kuwait Specialized Field Hospital.
Graphic video obtained depictied a man carrying the decapitated body of a child, covered in bloodied clothes, towards the hospital in Khan Younis.
He is heard saying, “My son, my son, my brother, his wife, his sister, and my sister are all gone. They struck a tent, I swear they struck a tent, my mother is gone.”
Palestinian officials equally reported at least 30 deaths from an Israeli airstrike on a school in Gaza.
Responding to CNN’s inquiry regarding the attacks in Khan Younis, the Israeli military stated it “follows international law and takes feasible precautions to mitigate civilian harm” while “operating to dismantle Hamas’ military and administrative capabilities.”
Five more people lost their lives in attacks in Gaza City and Deir Al-Balah, according to a Civil Defense spokesman’s statement on Sunday.
Israel initiated its offensive against Hamas in Gaza following the militant group’s October 7 attack on Israel, which resulted in 1,200 deaths and over 250 kidnappings. Since then, Israeli attacks have claimed more than 39,000 lives and injured over 90,000 individuals, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
CNN reported it cannot independently verify these figures, as international media access to Gaza is restricted.
