Former Barcelona and Spain defender Marc Bartra and model Jessica Goicoechea have reportedly parted ways after two years
According to journalist Abel Planelles, the Real Betis player and his girlfriend have amicably decided to called it quits.
Despite overcoming multiple crises in their on-again, off-again relationship, the couple has now chosen to go their separate ways.
The news of their split was first shared by Abel Planelles on his Instagram page.
In a video posted to his account, Planelles announced, “Jessica Goicoechea and Marc Bartra have broken up. The couple, who confirmed their relationship by mistake, I don’t know if you remember, with a video that Marc Bartra unintentionally uploaded in November 2022, would have put an end to the relationship.”
The specific reason behind their breakup remains unclear, but Planelles noted that the split was without resentment. “For what the environment tells me, zero bad vibes. There is no bad relationship. In fact, on the contrary, there is a good relationship.
“They have not stopped following as they could do other times when there was a crisis. They follow each other, they get along well, but it is true that the relationship is over,” he revealed in the clip, as reported by AS.
Bartra, 33, and Goicoechea had been together since 2001, amid Bartra’s failed marriage to Melissa Jiménez, with whom he shares three children.
Earlier in 2024, Goicoechea surprised her followers by revealing that the couple had a “sex deal.” The arrangement came about after the 27-year-old model spent time away from Bartra.
Goicoechea disclosed details of their agreement on the Spanish talk show La Resistencia in May.
When asked about her sexual activity during her time away in Bali, Bartra, who was present in the audience, mentioned, “for ‘every day we see each other’ the couple have to have sex.” Goicoechea then added, “If we don’t do it one day, you have to do it twice the day after.”
The pair went public with their relationship in November 2022, after Bartra accidentally posted a video of them together on social media.
Since the news of their breakup surfaced, neither Bartra nor Goicoechea has confirmed the split, and they continue to follow each other on Instagram as of this report.
