Paris Saint-Germain is poised to make a historic move by offering a €250 million fee for Barcelona’s prized young talent, Lamine Yamal.
According to Mundo Deportivo, this offer comes despite Barcelona’s firm stance that Yamal is non-transferable and not open to negotiations.
The French club views Yamal as the perfect successor to Kylian Mbappe, who recently joined Real Madrid.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta had previously disclosed in March that the club had rejected a €200 million bid for Yamal from PSG.
Now, PSG is prepared to up the ante by €50 million, showcasing the extraordinary market value and potential they see in Yamal.
Even with PSG’s readiness to shatter their own transfer record, Barcelona remains resolute.
Yamal’s contract, renewed in October 2023, includes a €1,000 million termination clause, tying him to the club until 2026.
Due to his minor status, a longer-term deal wasn’t possible at the time, but an extension until 2031 is already in the pipeline once he reaches the eligible age.
Yamal has had a remarkable rise at Barcelona, making his first-team debut at just 15 years old.
The club is deeply committed to his development and sees him as a cornerstone for their future, particularly with the reopening of Camp Nou on the horizon.
His agent, Jorge Mendes, is also confident in the bright future awaiting Yamal at Barcelona.
In essence, despite PSG’s record-breaking €250 million bid, Barcelona has made it abundantly clear that “Yamal is not for sale”.
The club’s unwavering support for his growth and their vision of him as a pivotal player for the future underscores their refusal to entertain even the most lucrative offers.
