Fermin Lopez has expressed his lack of interest in speculation regarding a potential transfer to Manchester United, reiterating his dedication to Barcelona.
Earlier this summer, Spanish reports indicated that United had made a €30m, £25.4m, offer for Fermin, which Barcelona swiftly rejected.
The Catalan club stated they would only consider letting go of the young midfielder for a substantial fee.
Barcelona’s commitment to Fermin is mirrored by the player himself, as he emphasized his focus on a future at Camp Nou in an interview with Relevo.
“I don’t read the press, I’m not really interested,” Fermin stated. “The important thing is that I want to be at Barca and I only think about Barca. Nothing else.”
Barcelona have successfully registered Fermin for next season, alongside left-back Alejandro Balde. However, Inigo Martinez and Vitor Roque are still awaiting registration, as is manager Hansi Flick.
Currently representing Spain in Euro 2024, Fermin has consistently voiced his ambition to remain with Barcelona, recently expressing his hope to secure a new contract with the club.
“I’m hopeful that [contract talks] will work out,” he told Mundo Deportivo. “Playing for Barca has been a lifelong dream for me, and now that dream is coming true. I wish to stay at Barca for many years to come.”
Meanwhile, Oriol Romeu might depart Barcelona this summer, with Girona interested in a reunion, and there are ongoing uncertainties about Sergi Roberto’s future as his contract nears its end.
