Enugu Rangers soared to victory on Sunday, clinching the NPFL title in a thrilling fashio with a 2-1 victory over Gombe United.
The win secured their spot at the top of the standings with 70 points from 38 matches and also earned them the right to represent Nigeria in the prestigious CAF Champions League.
Kazeem Ogunleye set the pace for Rangers, scoring a goal just three minutes into the game.
Godwin Obaje then extended their lead with his 12th goal of the season in the seventh minute, putting ‘The Flying Antelopes’ in a commanding position at 2-0.
Despite being already relegated, Gombe United fought back, with Anas Hassan scoring a goal in the 25th minute to narrow the gap.
However, Rangers held on to their lead, securing the victory and the NPFL title in a memorable season finale.
