France forward, Antoine Griezmann has called on football fans to cease comparing Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappe, emphasizing their distinct playing styles and career paths.
In an interview with BFM RMC Sport, Griezmann shared his thoughts on the frequent comparisons between Mbappe, Messi, and Ronaldo, highlighting that each player has a unique journey.
The Atletico Madrid star, who alongside Mbappe contributed to France’s strong start in their Euro 2024 campaign with a 1-0 victory over Austria, stressed the importance of appreciating each player individually.
Mbappe, however, had to leave the pitch in the 90th minute due to a severe collision with Kevin Danso that resulted in a broken nose.
“Kylian is forging his own path. We need to stop comparing him with others, even with Leo (Messi) or any other player. Everyone has their own story to write,” Griezmann explained.
Kylian Mbappe returned to France training on Wednesday after breaking his nose against Austria in their Euro 2024 opener.
The 25-year-old was seen wearing a protective bandage and initially trained separately from the team.
It is still uncertain if the France’s captain will be fit to play in their second group match against the Netherlands in Leipzig on Friday.
