Eid-El-Kabir: Let’s be our brother’s keeper, Enugu gov urges Muslims
Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, extended his heartfelt greetings to the Muslim community in the state and nationwide on the occasion of Eid-El-Kabir, noting that we should be our brother’s keeper.
He emphasized the importance of love, tolerance, peace, unity, and sacrifice among Nigerians for the nation’s progress.
In his goodwill message to the Muslim faithful, Mbah addressed the socio-economic challenges facing the country, expressing hope that they would be alleviated through collective effort and dedication to nation-building.
He remarked, “I extend warm greetings to our Muslim brothers and sisters in Enugu State in particular and across the nation on this occasion of Eid el-Kabir.”
Highlighting the significance of the celebration, he said, “As we celebrate, let us also reflect on and imbibe the essence of sacrifice, charity, love, service, peace, unity, humility, and submission to the command of God that this occasion represents.”
Mbah called on Nigerians to support each other during these challenging times, stating, “Let us remember to be our brother’s keeper and spare a thought for our neighbors to ensure that no one is left behind as we navigate through the difficult times. It is only by working together in love and commitment to nationhood that we can overcome the present challenges and build a Nigeria of our dreams.”
He assured that his government is dedicated to creating an inclusive Enugu State, where everyone has the opportunity to succeed regardless of their political, religious, or ethnic backgrounds.
Concluding his message, he wished all Nigerians a joyous Eid el-Kabir celebration, saying, “I wish all Nigerians a happy Eid el-Kabir celebration.”
