Tyson Fury is eagerly counting down the days as he prepares for ‘redemption’ against Oleksandr Usyk, having resumed training following his first career defeat.
The 35-year-old Fury and 37-year-old Usyk are set to clash again on December 21 in Saudi Arabia.
Usyk secured the undisputed world heavyweight champion title with a split decision victory over Fury in their initial encounter in the Gulf region in May.
In his first public comments since the fight, Fury shared a video on social media showing him training and hitting a punch bag, while promising to take revenge.
“Hey guys, Tyson Fury here. Back in the gym as you can see,” he announced on his Instagram account.
“Counting down the days until I can get my redemption on Usyk. December the 21st is going to be my time.
“I’ve done everything in boxing, but I ain’t come back from a loss. And I relish it, the chance to come back and redeem myself. Get up! December 21st is all me. Undisputed here we come.”
In the caption of his post, Fury reflected on his defeat to Usyk, who now holds the WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF titles.
“The path to redemption is all mine. I know what I have to do, I saw my shortcomings and best believe I am inevitable,” he declared.
Lennox Lewis, from Britain, was the last to unify the major heavyweight belts—three at the time—by defeating Evander Holyfield in 1999.
