Fire has gutted a building within the School of Technology at Kano State Polytechnic.
It was learnt that the intense blaze completely ravaged the Arts and Industrial Department of the polytechnic in the early hours of Tuesday.
Spokesperson for the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, informed journalists that the cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
He added that the full extent of the damage has yet to be determined due to an ongoing investigation. Abdullahi assured that additional information would be shared as it becomes available.
In a related incident last weekend, a fire outbreak destroyed several properties at a soap factory and plastic waste dump site on Amanato Street, Ugwagba Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State.
The fire, which reportedly began around 1 am on Saturday, was controlled by state firefighters upon their arrival.
An eyewitness noted that the fire started in one corner of the building, leading to an immediate alert to the firefighters.
Despite some property damage, the state fire service successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures.
Chief of the State Fire Service, Chukwudi Chiketa, confirmed the incident to journalists, stating that firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 1:40 am on Saturday to tackle the blaze.
