Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has expressed that the team is in a calm and composed state as they prepare for their pivotal home match against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.
Nigeria will face Hugo Broos’ squad in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday.
This match is crucial for the West African team, which has yet to secure a victory in Group C.
The Super Eagles have managed to accumulate only two points from their first two matches against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
A draw or a loss to the South Africans could severely impact their chances of qualifying for the World Cup.
Despite the stakes, Nwabali assured that the Super Eagles are fully prepared and determined to earn maximum points in the upcoming game.
“There is no pressure, we just take the game one at a time, we just have to put ourselves together and try to win the game (against South Africa), then move on to the next game against Benin in Abidjan,” he told the Super Eagles media.
“All we need now is to win this game and fight hard to qualify for the World Cup. Everybody is training hard and looking forward to the game.”
