Chelsea head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, has clarified his early departure from the pitch before the club’s end-of-season lap of appreciation.
Despite a challenging season, Chelsea finished on a high with a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth, securing sixth place with five consecutive wins.
Pochettino’s future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain, and his abrupt exit from the pitch on Sunday only fueled speculation.
While addressing his early departure, Pochettino explained at the post-match press conference that he left due to time constraints, as Thiago Silva was receiving a farewell presentation.
He said, “Because there was no time, because Thiago Silva [had a goodbye presentation].
“And then when the players started [to do the lap], [press officer] Adrian [Phillips] said I needed to go inside.
“Maybe now I’ll go and give a tour [of the pitch].”
