The Orile Divisional Police Officer of the Lagos State Police Command recently conducted a raid on shanties believed to be hideouts of miscreants following an investigation into their activities.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a post on X.com on Thursday.
His caption read, “Worried by occasional reports of harassment by miscreants at Orile environs, especially at the bad portions of the Badagry Expressway, DPO Orile Division commenced regular patrols of the affected areas.
“In addition, the tactical team covering the area investigated to ascertain where the miscreants emerge from and retire to. It was discovered that some of these miscreants have operational rooms in shanties just close to the road.”
Hundeyin added that during the raid of the shanties, no suspect was found, however, the officers recovered some weapons in their hideout.
He added, “The shanties were busted. No suspect was found there but the following were recovered: 2 locally made pistols, 6 live cartridges, 1 battle axe, 1 hammer and 2 scissors.
“While the particular shanties in which the weapons were found were destroyed, efforts are on to apprehend the suspects.”
