Two employees of FoodCo, Ring Road branch, Ibadan, Oyo State, Ebenezer Olusesi, 31, and Ibrahim Adeniyi, 41, were arraigned on Monday at the Iyaganku Chief Magistrate’s Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing two loaves of bread worth N2,600 from their employer.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Olusesi, a baker, and Adeniyi, a security guard, pleaded not guilty to the theft charges.
The prosecution counsel, Cpl. David Adepoju, the defendants conspired to commit the offence on April 28.
The stolen bread, worth N2,600, belongs to FoodCo Company, represented by Friday Achibong.
The prosecution alleged that the defendants violated Sections 390(a) and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000. Chief Magistrate Olabisi Ogunkanmi granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.
One of the sureties must be a relative, while the second surety must present tax evidence for two years.
The case was adjourned until August 15 for further hearing.
