Protesters from Zamfara State reportedly gathered at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Friday.
Accirding to Channels TV, they are demanding the agency to reopen investigations into the former governor of the state, Bello Matawalle.
The protesters, identified as members of the All Progressvr Congress Loyalists Forum, urged the EFCC to investigate all petitions against the former governor, including the alleged diversion of contracts amounting to N70 billion during his tenure.
The EFCC’s Director of Public Affairs, Wilson Uwujaren, received the protest letter on behalf of the chairman and assured the protesters of the agency’s commitment to pursue every corruption case to a logical conclusion.
