The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested two notorious robbery kingpins, Ibrahim Haliru, a former convict from Kano State, and Babangida Mohammed of Mararaba, Nasarawa State.
The FCT Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Catherine Adeh, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, stated that the arrest took place on April 23.
She explained that the suspects were captured in relation to a string of car thefts targeting unsuspecting residents in the FCT and its surroundings.
SP Adeh disclosed that the police recovered approximately five vehicles and charms from the suspects as exhibits.
In the statement, she said, “The suspects, who have been on the wanted list of the command for the past few months, were trailed to and arrested with the aid of digital reconstruction intelligence in a hotel in Nasarawa while lavishing the proceeds of their crimes.
“While urging residents to take all necessary steps in protecting their valuables, the commissioner of police in FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni, reaffirms his unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of life and property of the residents of FCT.”
