Adamawa State Police Command has said it arrested four suspected armed robbers and recovered the tricycle they allegedly took from one Nuhu Muhammad.
The State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement, noting that a Tricycle with Reg. YL 155 VF was recovered from them.
Muhammed was said to have raised the alarm after he was attacked along Jimeta Bridge in the state capital, Yola, on Sunday.
In the statement Nguroje identified the names of the suspected robbers to include Abdullahi Yusuf, 22 years old; and Umar Yahaya, 20.
The other two are Hassan Ishaka, 24; and Shuaibu Abubakar, 19.
All the suspects are documented as being residents of Kwabura village, in Hawal Local Government Area of Borno State.
“On April 7th, 2024, at about 0600hrs, Nuhu Muhammed, a tricyclist, raised Alarm along Jimeta-Mubi Bridge after being attacked and robbed of his tricycle.
βThe Suspects are Abdullahi Yusuf (22yrs), Umar Yahaya (20yrs), Hassan Ishaka (24yrs), Shuaibu Abubakar (19yrs).
βInvestigations so far reveals that the suspects Boarded the Tricycle indicate that the tricyclist as passengers to a certain location, around Viniklang, Girei Local Government Area. Upon reaching the bridge, they (suspect) applied force on the Tricyclist, threatening him with Dangerous weapons , pushed him out of the Tricycle and went away with it.
βA swift response from the Jimeta Division patrol team led to the apprehension of these suspects and the recovery of the Tricycle.
The PPRO stated further that the suspects pushed the victim out of the tricycle and went away with it.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, assured that the suspects will be charged to court for criminal conspiracy and armed robbery upon the conclusion of investigation,β the statement read.
