Nigeria Football Federation Refereeing Development Unit has suspended center referee, Jimoh Abdurasheed and his assistant, Zakari Adamu from further officiating in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Their suspension was necessitated after a petition by Kano Pillars to the Nigerian Professional Football League.
The duo were in charge of the matchday 24 fixture involving Rivers United and Kano Pillars at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium last weekend.
The two teams battled to a 1-1 stalemate in the game.
Reports revealed that the officials were involved in an unprofessional conduct which resulted in Rivers United’s equaliser in the encounter.
The decision to drop the officials is said to have been communicated to the NFF president and the general secretary.
