Chippa United goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, could miss Nigeria’s upcoming friendlies against Ghana and Mali due to injury.
Nwabali was taken off the pitch in the 73rd minute during Chippa United’s 2-0 defeat to defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the severity of what is suspected to be a knee injury will only be ascertained in the coming days.
Nwabali was named in the Super Eagles 26-man squad on Saturday to face the Black Stars of Ghana and Eagles of Mali in friendly games.
The 27-year-old established himself as Super Eagles first choice after an impressive performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Super Eagles will face Ghana at the Stade de Marrakech on March 22.
The friendly against Mali is scheduled to hold at the same stadium four days later.
