A Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, has remanded notorious thug, Oyeyemi Ajagungbade Olalekan, popularly called Emir, until March 13, 2024.
He was remanded after the suit was adjourned on Tuesday as Emir was arraigned in court.
Emir was arrested by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Osun State Police Command in September 2023 and his case was transferred to the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The Command had declared him wanted on July 2, 2022, for alleged murder, cultism, and armed robbery.
Emir is facing charges of murder, kidnapping, and armed robbery before the Federal High Court.
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke had appointed him a member of the Transport Disciplinary Committee of the state on January 9, 2023.
Also, Emir had earlier been arraigned before the court on February 1, 2024, when he was remanded at the Ile-Ife Custodial Facility.
But at the resumed sitting, the prosecution counsel, R. E. Usman, told the court he brought an amended charge and a motion.
The defence counsel, Edmond Biriomoni, however, appealed for some time.
“He had just been served the motion this morning (today) and needed time to respond to the prosecution application.”
Biriomoni observed that some fundamental defects in the prosecution application could not be raised orally and needed to be addressed.
