The Handball Federation of Nigeria has invited 26 players to camp ahead of the upcoming African Games in Ghana.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the coach of the team, Solomon Yola, disclosed this on Saturday noting that the players will represent the country well in Ghana.
The senior men handball national team have began intensive camping in Abuja ahead of the 13th Africa Games.
The team recently won the President’s Cup at the Africa Handball Nations Cup in Egypt, and will be Nigeria’s sole representative in the handball event at the African Games.
“These players have been busy with training since the beginning of the year and they also participated in the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
”We will use this camping as a medium to correct all the lapses we observed before now.
”All the departments of the team will be thoroughly reinforced before we leave Nigeria for Ghana for the tournament,” Yola said.
The 26 players invited to camp included Joseph Gbawuan, Daniel Bello, Mohammed Anas, Salami Damilare, Shagari John, Solomon Agbaji, Dikko Ibrahim, Ojo Nohuoman, Iortyer Stephen, Olaye Mathew, Ani Obinna, Mohammed Abbas, Okwor Obinna, Cole Gbenga , Yusuf Faruk, Rotibi Gbenga, Sunday Samson, Adamolugbe.
Others are Babatunde, Dele Gbenga, Igwekire Joseph, Atabo Sunday, Foloki Christian. Kasim Yazid, Ajibike Akanni, Sulaimon Olaitan and Nwaiwu Patrick.
The 13th African Games will hold in Ghana from March 8 to 23.
