A yet-to-be-identified man has reportedly died after being trampled on while trying to get rice from Customs’ office at Yaca, Lagos on Friday
Punch Metro had earlier reported that some residents of Lagos State queue up to purchase bags of rice offered by the Nigerian Customs Service at the affordable price of N10,000.
This follows the Customs’ announcement of the commencement of the distribution of seized food items on Friday day.
In a viral video posted on the X handle of Nigeria Info FM on Friday, it showed how people came out their numbers to take advantage of the offer.
The death of the manduring the process was not unconnected with the multitude who were at the scene struggling to get 25kg bag of rice.
However, the Customs have not issued official statement concerning the man’s death as the time of filing this report.
This development, however, sparked reactions from social media users.
