The preliminary draw of the 35th edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 will hold on Tuesday, in Cairo, Egypt.
This is coming following the conclusion of the 34th edition of TotalEnergies CAF AFCON,
The draw will be conducted at 14h00 local time, 12h00 GMT.
The preliminary round of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 will include the eight lowest-ranked teams according to the FIFA ranking: Somalia, Djibouti, Sao Tome, Chad, Mauritius, South Sudan, Liberia and Eswatini.
According to the update from Cairo, the headquarters of the body, the Mambas of Mozambique and the Scorpion of Gambia will not participate in the preliminary round of the qualifier.
Both countries had decent outings in the just-concluded AFCON in Ivory Coast and it improved their rankings on the continent.
CAF added that both countries will go straight into the group stage of the competition.
The matches will be played on home and away basis during the FIFA Window of 18-26 March 2024.
The four preliminary round winners will join the 44 exempted teams for the group stage.
