The Commander, Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army , Maj.-Gen. Kevin Aligbe, has strongly warned candidates of the 2024 on-going Lieutenant-to-Captain Practical Promotion Examination to desist from examination malpractice.
Aligbe gave the warning while addressing the officers at the venue, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos Plateau through the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Lt.-Col. Sani Uba, in a statement on Tuesday.
Aligbe, who is the Examination President, affirmed that the army maintained zero tolerance for examination malpractice, warning that the consequence of such an offence was a heavy sanction that would alter their progression in the Nigerian army.
He informed the candidates that the examination was one of a series of professional military education programmes introduced to boost their proficiency and leadership capabilities.
The army commander enjoined them to inculcate the core values of the army on the young officers, noting that the examination would also test their discipline and courage, which would define their career progression in the army.
He explained that the examination was in in line with the command philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, which is “to transform Nigerian Army into well-trained, equipped, and highly motivated force towards achieving its constitutional responsibilities in a joint environment.”
Aligbe gave the candidates assurance that the penslists and directing staff will observed fairness and openness in the conduct of the examination.
Remarking, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division, and Commander Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven, Maj.-Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar, called on the candidates to maintain decorum and discipline during the examination.
He noted that the examination was a determinant in shaping their career progression, expanding their knowledge and understanding of various aspects of military operations that would enhance their performance in ongoing operations across the country.
“Your performance in this examination is crucial for your career development,” he said.
