Super Eagles striker, Victor Osihmen has returned to training after injury scare in the preparation for the semi-finals clash with South Africa in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’ivoire.
In a video shared on social media@genakhena, the Napoli’s striker was seen training with the rest of the team.
Osihmen initially missed training on Monday as he could not travel with the members of the team from Abidjan to Bouake via Air Cote D’ivoire flight.
This was made known in a statement by the medical team on Monday night, noting that Osihmen did not make the trip due to abdominal discomfort.
The statement read, “Members of the team travelled from Abidjan to Bouake via Air Cote D’ivoire flight. Osihmen did not, however make the trip as result of abdominal discomfort.
“Team medics confirmed that he has been placed under close watch with a member of the medical team staying behind in Abidjan with him.
“If clearly by tomorrow morning, he will join the rest of the squad before 5pm.”
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old was on Tuesday cleared by the team’s medical doctor to join the rest of the team.
Nigeria will be facing South Africa in semi-finals of the 34th edition of AFCON on Wednesday.
The game is scheduled for a 5pm GMT kick-off at Stade de la Paix in Bouake.
