Fire reportedly gutted a Sawmill at the Awori bus stop in the Abule Egba area of Lagos State.
According to The PUNCH, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Fire Service, Amodu Shakiri, while confirming the incident, noted that the Alausa Fire Service and other relevant agencies are currently on the scene.
He added that the cause of the fire is yet unknown.
However, men of the Lagos Fire Service were said to be working on the cite of the incident as it was said that no casualties were recorded in the incident which occurred at the sawmill on a vast land at Awori bus stop.
While giving an update on the inferno, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye at 5.36 pm on Sunday, disclosed in a post on X, that the fire had been prevented from “spreading beyond the sawmill and put under control”.
She stated further that firefighters from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service from Agege, Abesan and Alausa stations were at the scene to put out the fire.
She said the cause of the fire was still unknown at the time she posted it on the X handle of the fire and rescue service.
“Supposed cause unknown for”, she added.
