Oche noted that the State NSCDC boss had warned that no form of violence would be tolerated as the Corps would be poised to provide adequate security coverage during and after the rerun election in Shinkafi Local Government Area of the state.
In the statement, the Commandant had assured adequate electoral umpire of a smooth and hitch free rerun as expected, noting that the Command has already strategized how to successfully conduct the election.
The State’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof S.B Ahmad, has commended the doggedness of the Corps in previous elections and the maintenance of security in the State.
He pointed out that the NSCDC is a stakeholder in the electoral business in the nation and “as such, the Commission deemed it fit to consult with the Corps and other security agencies in order to chart a way forward for the success of the rerun election slated on the 3rd February, 2024”.
