Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman, has expressed excitement for getting into the quarter-finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, adding Angola is a good tean and they will prepare for them.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Lookman disclosed this after win over Cameroon on Saturday.
The diminutive attacker whose brace helped Nigeria advanced to quarter-finals on Saturday explained that Super Eagles is getting better with each game, noting that the more they play together the fluidity they become, adding that they are poised to soar in the tournament.
Lookman who was named TotalEnergies Man of the Match pointed out that after the game the win was a collective effort.
“Wow, we’re so happy to qualify for the quarter-finals.
“The more we play together, the more fluid we become. I’m standing here now but this award reflects the whole team’s performance,” the Atalanta player said after the win against Cameroon.
Lookman lauded the support from the Nigerian fans in the stands for giving the team the push to defeat the Cameroonians.
“I love this atmosphere, it’s incredible. Tonight our fans pushed us to the end because this was Cameroon, and when you wear the Super Eagles shirt, some games resonate more than others,” he said.
The Atalanta player noted that all attention would now be focused on the Angola game on Friday in Abidjan.
“Angola are a good team. We’ll analyse them and prepare.
“The further you go, the tougher it gets. So, we’ll take it game by game,” he said.
