Guinea-Bissau head coach, Baciro Cande, has disclosed that his team will leave no stone unturned to win their first match against Nigeria in the 2023 African Cup of Nations on Monday.
The Djurtus have a slim chance of progressing to the group stage in the 34 edition of the AFCON, after losing their opening two games of the competition.
Cande’s side occupy bottom spot in Group A with zero point.
Guinea-Bissau are also yet to win a game in the history of the AFCON.
The coach noted that his players are strikingly spirited for the game and will go all out for a win.
“We are excited to play a good match tomorrow,” he told reporters in Abidjan.
“We have one match to close the first phase of the competition and we will do everything to have a good game tomorrow.
“It will be difficult but we will do everything possible tomorrow. We want to have our first AFCON win tomorrow.”
The game will be played at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan, at 6:00 pm Nigerian time.
