Goodwill Agomoh Paul, one of the closest associates of the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Temitope Balogun Joshua, has given an insight into how the cleric used foreigners to attract crowd to the church.
Paul gave this insight into the activities that pumped the church in one of the videos recently released by BBC.
He noted that there were certain things TB Joshua told him personally that none of the disciples knew.
He disclosed that the late televangelist knew what he wanted, how to go about it and strategic about his plan as he had special interest in the whites.
Paul who declared that TB Joshua was like a god to him, said the greatest thing that pumped the church was when the foreigners started trooping in, paying for the flight tickets of those who came from the United States, Europe and every part of the world for the first time.
“There are certain things TB Joshua told me personally, that I knew and many of the disciples didn’t know. He knew exactly what he wanted to achieve.
“He had special interest in the Oyinbos, the whites. In 1996, one of the major pastors came from South Africa and when they are leaving, he gave them 200 VHS video to take home so that he can give people. Videos of miracles, videos of confessions, videos will fill their heads.
“I said the videos are too expensive, he laughed. “You think I am a fool? I know what I’m doing. A time will come this Synagogue Church is going to shoot out from South Africa to the whole world.
“The law he gave to cameramen is “Record everything. They got everything. So many videos. He came with something different, something unusual, something that was never in the Christendom. The whole world had never seen something like it is here.
“The greatest thing that pumped the church was when the ‘Oyinbos’ started coming in. This was strategic and it was planned.
“He used the whites to market his brand. A lot of manipulations”
Corroborating this claim, a South African confessed that, “I have just got a confession to make that I want the whole world to know. In the past, I have always hated blacks, I really hated blacks, I really hated them. When I got back over here, I saw the love that we received from black people.”
Also speaking, another South African, said, Believe brothers and sisters, Nigeria is the last place on earth I had ever wanted to come to. There are fraudsters, there are moneylaunderers, there are drugs peddlers and I say God I’m sorry. Here is a piece of Heaven of Earth.
Another church member identified simply as Bisola said, “TB Joshua told us that his coming to the world was prophesied about 100 years ago. He looked like someone who can solve your problems.”
Speaking about his spiritual power, she said, “When he looked into my eyes he pierced into my subconscious. His eyes were enchanting. I wanted to cry. You can imagine how powerful he was. There is something I don’t know how to explain. He can deliver somebody with evil spirits just with a sentence.
“If people want to talk about him, they talk about him under their breath. They are afraid of spiritual powers. The spiritual power of TB Joshua hypnotized people, affected people’s mind. I thought he could be an angel or something.
