The Nigerian Police Force has advised all motor vehicle owners to register and obtain Motor Vehicle Information Certificate.
This was made known in a statement posted on X, formerly Twitter handle by the Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin on Friday.
The statement noted that this will help the police in its determination to enhance its investigation and operational capabilities in combating vehicle-related crimes.
It added that this will help improve security for all vehicles or motors on Nigerian roads by assisting the investigation of motor theft and recovery process.
The statement read, “The Nigeria Police Force in its determination to enhance its investigation and operational capabilities in combating vehicle-related crime advises all Vehicle owners to register and obtain Motor Vehicle Information Certificate through the online Central Motor Registry Information Systems.
“This application is to enable motor vehicle owners seamlessly apply for Nigerian Police Central Motor Registry Information about vehicle ownership and other details that will be useful in the investigation of motor vehicle theft and recovery and for enhancing national security.
“This CMR online portal offers more convenience way for vehicle owners to provide update and critical information about vehicle.
“NPF-CMR will help improve security for all vehicle on Nigeria roads by siding in the investigation of motor vehicle theft and recovery process.
