In a remarkable display of skill and determination, 16-year-old Luke Littler extended his astonishing journey at the PDC World Darts Championship by defeating Rob Cross, securing a commanding 6-2 victory to advance into the final.
This being his debut on the world stage, Littler’s exceptional performance has earned him a spot in the championship showdown, where he will square off against Luke Humphries, who secured a convincing 6-0 win over Scott Williams.
With this triumph, Littler has not only secured a place in the final but also amassed an impressive Β£200,000 in earnings.
His achievement also marks a historic moment, as he becomes the youngest individual to reach the final in the championship’s history, surpassing Kirk Shepherd, who achieved this feat at 21 years and 88 days old back in 2008.
“It is crazy to even think I am in the final on my debut,” he said.
Littler told Sky Sports: “I was happy to win one game and now I can go all the way. It’s not easy. You are playing Rob, he is a world champion who won on debut. I’ve got no words.”
Asked about his preparation for Wednesday’s final, Littler added: “I’ll be doing what I’ve been doing. In the morning I’ll go for my ham and cheese omelette and then come here, have a pizza and then prep on the board. That is what I’ve done every day.”
