The trio of Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshall Hassan Abubakar and Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla on Sunday visited Plateau communities affected by the recent killings.
In a video which surfaced online, the Minister of State for Defence Bello Muhammed Matawalle and the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu were among the entourage that visited the affected areas of Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi communities.
It would be recalled that the Senate had summoned the Chief of Army Staff, Taoreed Lagbaja, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Director-General of State Security Services, Yusuf Bichi, over the recent killings in Plateau State.
The summons was sequel to a motion sponsored by Diket Plang , Plateau Central) at the plenary on Saturday.
The brutal killings of over 160 Nigerians in three LGAs in Plateau State on Christmas eve and Christmas Day by terrorists have once again illustrated the failure of the Nigerian State to protect its citizens.
Over 20 villages across Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu LGAs were attacked in what has become a pattern of a failed or a fast-failing state.
