The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari [rtd] has sympathised with the people of Kano State following the May 17 gas explosion that killed many people in the state.
Buhari who is on a working visit to the state made this known at the Palace of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Bayero on Monday.
The president described the incident as an unfortunate one while also hailing the state government for its swift response to the incident.
“I am in Kano to condole the emir over the unfortunate incident that claimed some lives and to commiserate with the families of the victim.
“I pray for affected families and also praise the state government for being proactive” he stated.
The president also appreciated the people of the State for their continued support for his led administration during his address.
While responding to the President, the Emir expressed gratitude for the visit, saying that the state has always been home to the president, where many people have great respect for him.
Bayero also applauded the Buhari led administration for prioritizing infrastructural development in the state and the nation at large.
He assured the president of the Emirate’s support in completing his term in office successfully.
