A Nigerian stowaway, identified as Osas Nusakare, has vowed that he will continue to attempt for a successful stowaway until he crosses to Europe.
According to Daily Trust, Nusakare, was one of the 14 stowaways arrested onboard a foreign vessel at the Lagos Roadstead.
He was arrested by Naval officers from NNS BEECROFT alongside 14 stowaways aboard the motor tanker UOG CONSTANTINE.
In an interview with journalists, he stated that this was his second try and affirmed his determination to persist until he achieves success.
Nusakare mentioned that he had boarded the vessel intending to travel to Europe.
However, their presence was discovered before the ship departed from Lagos waters. It was discovered that the ship had arrived to unload petroleum products at a tank farm in Lagos.
“We joined the vessel with the aim of travelling to any country in Europe. We were encouraged by the fact that we were going to celebrate the New Year in Europe. This is my second attempt. I am not discouraged. I will continue to try untill I succeed,” he added.
