Nigerian international singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has shared his intention to donate N100 million to children for Christmas.
The artist disclosed this through his Instagram story, specifying that the initiative would commence in Lagos State’s Surulere area.
He expressed that this generous act is a tribute to his late mother, Juliana Morayo Balogun, who passed away on August 18, 2023.
He wrote, “100M for the kids for Christmas! Lord bless us all 😇 start in Surulere tonight!
“All in Morayo’s name! The love of my life! ❤️❤️🕊️”
PUNCH METRO reported that Wizkid’s mum died on the 18th of August in London.
While the cause of her death was, however, not disclosed, a funeral service was held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God on the 13th of October, 2023.
Mourning his mum, Wizkid said, “I have no words to describe the pain that I feel, and I know every one of my family members shares this pain with me. I know the pain can’t go away, so I’m not going to say, ‘Take away the pain’, but I know God, in his infinite mercy, will comfort us to go on with life.”
