The Chairman of the Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area in Lagos State, Mr. Olusesan Daini, has announced plans for collaboration between the council administration and the Nigeria Immigration Service to enhance security for the newly inaugurated passport front office in Igbogbo, Ikorodu.
During the opening ceremony of the Igbogbo Passport Front Office by the Comptroller General of NIS,Mrs. Caroline Adepoju, in the Igbogbo area of the state over the weekend, Daini highlighted that the establishment of a passport office in the council necessitates an improvement in security measures within the area.
He said, “I want to assure you that with the support of the security team we have in the Ikorodu Division and Igbogbo-Baiyeku, we will do our best to strengthen our security architecture.
“We will also need you (the NIS) to support us in the area of security. We will reach out to you through the Passport Control Officer here, Deputy Comptroller Muyiwa Odunubi, on how we can partner on adequate security for the facility and for our division.”
Daini urged the residents of Igbogbo-Baiyeku and Ikorodu to take responsibility for and safeguard the newly established passport office.
“We must try as much as possible to avoid crimes, and there must not be molestation of applicants that will be coming from all over the country to use this facility.
“I want to say that this will definitely increase the security architecture of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA and Igbogbo town, so everybody should be mindful of their movements and activities because the attention of the security of the nation will be on us,” he added.
