Vice President Yemi Osinbajo paid a condolence visit to the scene of Tuesday morning’s gas explosion at Aba Road in the Sabon Gari area of Kano State.
WuzupNigeria reported that at least nine people have been confirmed dead just as the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Sama’ila Dikko, debunked reports claiming that the incident was caused by a bomb explosion.
However, in a statement released by Osinbajo’s aide, Laolu Akande, the All Progressives Congress presidential aspirant was in the state for a scheduled consultation with APC stakeholders and delegates.
Akande added that Osinbajo was accompanied by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to the scene of the explosion.
“Vp Osinbajo accompanied by Kano Gov. expresses condolences with victims of the explosion & their relatives, while also wishing the injured speedy recovery.
“VP who was already scheduled to hold his ongoing consultations with APC stakeholders and delegates in Kano this afternoon stopped at the scene of this morning’s explosion in Sabon Geri before proceeding with the delegates’ interactive meeting,” Akande wrote.
