Football fans have demanded the sack of the coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro, after the national teams disappointing draw against Zimbabwe on Sunday.
The Super Eagles managed to secure a 1-1 draw against its Zimbabwe counterpart in their second game in the qualifiers.
The game was considered a must win for the Super Eagles following South Africa’s victorious start in the Group.
The Super Eagles in their first game could only hold Lesotho’s Crocodiles to a 1-1 draw in their Group C opener played in Nigeria.
Popular social media influencer, @Omojuwa tweeted, “I have been making noise about Jose Peseiro since before he resumed work as super eagles coach. Whoever hired him had a design to destroy Nigerian football.”
Also another tweep identified as @Lerry, tweeted, “I will never take Super Eagles seriously until Jose Peseiro is gone. That man cannot coach Nigeria to glory, I’m not sorry to say.”
Sharing the same opinion, @Temiokomi, tweeted,”The Super Eagles have, perhaps, the worst coach in African football. I use the word “Perhaps” because the football coach in my son’s school, Mr. Fatoki, can be awful with his selection. If Mr. Fatoki gets his selection right, Jose Peseiro will be the undoubted worst in Africa.”
While @OgbeniofLagos tweeted,”The coaching crew have been poor. The stats doesn’t lie. They can’t take us anywhere.
“I just don’t understand why a foreigner will be managing African team. African football is absolutely different from European football.
“It’s time to sack the coach or we lose WC slot.”
